The Native Museum of Homolje in Žagubica

The Native Museum of Homolje in Žagubica is a museum of local history. The Museum was founded on the fourth of March 2016, when the parliament of the Municipality of Žagubica made the decision about it. The following year, on the first of January, it was officially opened. Part of the Museum’s permanent exhibition collection is the exhibition of sculptures made by the world-renowned and famous academic sculptor Svetomir Arsić Basara. Besides this exhibition, the visitors can see two more which belong to the permanent collection of the Museum - the archeological exhibition called The Early Byzantine Period on the Territory of Žagubica, and the historical and ethnological exhibition called Homolje – the Remnants of the Past. The Native Museum of Homolje monthly hosts guest exhibitions from all parts of Serbia. You can visit our website to see the photographs and virtual tours of the permanent exhibition collection and all the guest exhibitions that the Museum has hosted. The Native Museum of Homolje is open daily for visitors from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm. Admission is free.
